Borde Hill Walled Kitchen Garden

Beauty and edibility, inseparable.

Set within a Grade II listed West Sussex estate, the 1906 walled garden at Borde Hill has been a sheltered growing space for over a century. Ann-Marie Powell Gardens was commissioned to reimagine it as a biodynamic kitchen garden.

Landscape Architecture: Crafting Spaces for Life and Learning

Our practice takes on Landscape Architecture commissions across the south of England and beyond: large-scale projects where art, environment, architecture, engineering and sociology converge to create and enable life between buildings.

Our landscape architects have designed some of the UK’s most significant garden and public realm projects. These include the two and a half acres we were commissioned to design for the National Centre for Horticultural Science and Learning at RHS Wisley in Surrey. The World Food Garden and Wildlife Garden opened in 2021 as the UK’s first dedicated scientific centre of excellence for horticultural science and learning. More recently, we were appointed to design the Great Fountain Garden at Hampton Court Palace, currently under construction, and completed the biodynamic redesign of the 1906 Walled Kitchen Garden at Borde Hill in West Sussex, now at the heart of Restaurant Isca.
