We were happy to help with their £14 million renovation, and we pulled out all the stops in our exclusive spa garden design.

The spa gardens were inspired by the smooth lines, mature trees and river Ver of the surrounding Repton designed landscape as a space for members and guests to rest, relax and savour the sun on their faces. An indoor-out hydropool reaches into an atmospheric garden made for relaxation of mind and body.

We designed every element of the spa gardens, from the three secluded outdoor hot tubs to day bed loungers and sculptural boundary screens. Bespoke glass screens were commissioned to bounce light into the space. A calming central water rill, six metre long copper water wall and bubbling water bowls all add to the sense of relaxation. These features are beautifully set beneath the canopies of specimen “Osmanthus aquifolium” trees, hand-selected by Ann-Marie Powell from a plant specialist in Belgium.

Members can relieve stress and stimulate muscle tone in the garden’s bespoke Dornbracht luxury shower, known as Sensory Sky. They can relax by the warmth of the garden fire table, snuggling down into the luxurious comfort of the garden sofas. The Cottonmill spa gardens are the ultimate space to enrich the soul, tailored to whatever guests need at any given time.

The exclusive spa gardens at The Spa at Cottonmill has won several prestigious awards including the International and UK Commercial Landscape & Garden Design Award and the Hardscape Design Award by the Society of Garden Designers in 2021.

They have also featured extensively in the media including Harpers Bazaar, Elle Decoration, The Telegraph, The Times and London Evening Standard, whilst receiving many five star reviews from guests.
